So, what is Turbo-Faith?
Recently I heard a talk show host refer to Christians as “Turbos”- At first it ticked me off but then I got to thinking about it and then I pondered exactly what is a Turbo? I drive a Mack truck that has a turbo- its primary function is to increase horsepower and to maximize fuel efficiency. So, I thought, how does that compare to Christians-After giving it some thought I realized Yeah, I am a “Turbo Christian”-
Think about this- By being a Christian I have tapped into the very life of God- I don’t think you can get anymore power than the Power from Our Heavenly Father- Jesus said that all power on heaven and earth was given to Him (Matt. 28:18-20) Then Jesus told us to go into all the world- with the same power that was given to Him- he gave it to us! Glory to God!!
OK, so what else does it mean- well we as Christians, when we come together there is a cooperate anointing- an increase in the Anointing- an increase in the Power- we make a draw on the Anointing and we see God move in services- People set free from sin, people healed of sickness, people filled with the Holy Spirit
Yes, I am Born Again, Healed and filled with The Holy Spirit- that certainly makes me a Turbo-
He uses the reference of “Turbo” to anyone who believes in Creation, is against abortion, is against homosexuality, and promotes Christianity- Yep, that’s me- I am a Turbo and proud of it!!
I am proud of the fact that I serve a Risen Savior who paid my sin debt, who bore my sins, sickness, and pain!
~A Savior who loves me, protects me, empowers me to do the seemingly impossible, but I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me!!Phil.4:13
~A Savior that provides everything I need Phil4: 19- But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
~ I am proud that I serve a Savior who heals me -1 Pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. That is enough to make you shout!!
~A Savior that has redeemed me from the Curse -Gal.3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
~ A Savior that has Blessed me!! Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the
Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
And 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
What are those Blessings? Long Life, Health, Prosperity, A Friend of God ( Friend means Blood Covenant Partner) Yep, that is me! A Blessing going somewhere to happen!
~ And yes, I do believe in Creation- I believe that God spoke and the world and all in it came into being when He spoke and released His Faith- Read Genesis chapter 1- And God said…..and God said……..And God said………and God said…….get the picture? Our words have the same authority, but that is a different subject.
~ I do believe in the sanctity of life- The Bible, Gods Holy Word, speaks many times about children
Psalm 127:3 - Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalm 127:4 - As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Proverbs 17:6 –Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
Jesus loved the little children too we see in Matthew 19, Mark 10, Luke 18, that he told the disciples to allow them to come to Him- Children are a precious Gift from God- The moral decay in this country, in this world has reduced the value of human life.
~ I am against homosexuality- I DID NOT say that I am against the homosexual- I said I am against the sin! The lifestyle of homosexuality is mentioned in the Bible and is called an abomination- a stink in the nostrils of God-It has led to the destruction of families and ruined lives of countless people- God does not make a mistake- I have heard people say that they are “born” homosexual- well in a way they are right- they were born with a sin nature- the sin that was passed down from Adam is in everyone born- But Thank God we don’t have to stay that way- God sent His son to die for our sins and give us a new life in Him!
~ Abomination- Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:27
~ Everlasting life- John 3:16, Romans 6:22, Galatians 6:8, John 5:24, Matthew 25:46 and many more.
When in doubt if God loves you look at John 3:16 – God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. It didn’t say that he so loved the Christian, this one and not that one- it says the world! That’s everybody; white, black, brown, yellow, boy, girl, man, woman, Christian, sinner, thief, drug addict, prostitute, homosexual, Muslim, Hindu Buddhist, the biggest sinner in the world- God sent His Son Jesus for you! All you have to do is accept this Gift from God! He will not force you to get saved; it is up to you- He loves you so much that He sent Jesus but He will also let you decide to go to hell if you so choose! As we say, the ball is in your court. What will you do with Jesus? Will you accept Him or reject Him?
Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Notice it says that He will not blot out the name- Think about it- when he sent Jesus and he went to the cross and was buried, defeated the devil after 3 days in hell paying the price for sin and raised him again –As far as God is concerned, everyone is saved-everyone is written in the Book of Life-How sad to know that your name was written there and on judgement day it is blotted out- sent to hell for all eternity-He tells you to depart because He never knew you (Matt.7: 23)-Not because He is a mean God, BUT because you never accepted Gods gift! God never intended that man spend eternity in hell- He has done all He can to see you don’t – The rest is up to you-
I am reminded of the jingle Dr. Pepper had years ago; I’m a Turbo, he’s a Turbo, she’s a Turbo, we’re a Tubo, wouldn’t you like to be a Turbo too?
So, if you want to refer to me as a “Turbo” that is just fine with me; I receive that! A turbo on an engine causes the pressure to be extreme in the combustion chamber so here again, I receive that! I am Extremely Saved, Extremely Healed, Extremely Prosperous, Extremely Blessed, and an Extreme Blessing!
Examples of Turbo-Faith
Lets look at some Biblical examples of Turbo-Faith: Where is the best place to start? Usually the best place is the beginning! In Genesis we see a man who had Turbo-Faith; Starting in Genesis 11:29 and going through Genesis 21 we see that Abraham had that kind of faith- He and his wife had no children and they were on up in years but God promised Abraham that He would make him the Father of many nations- Abraham and Sarah believed God and it came to pass that they had a son, Isaac - All through Abraham’s life we see examples of Turbo-Faith!
Lets skip on over to 1 Samuel 17; We see that a giant named Goliath was causing problems for the Israelites- he came out everyday and asked them to send out someone to fight him- no one went-fear had set in on the Israelites; BUT thank God there was someone who had Turbo-Faith! A young man named David had that kind of faith- he knew that God had delivered him from the bear and the lion and He would deliver him from the hands of Goliath- and He did!
Another example, and these are only a few, are the three Hebrew Children-Look in Daniel 3 for the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; King Nebuchadnezzar made a law that everybody had to worship an idol when the trumpets blew- they refused to worship any god but the True and Living God- well the king had the furnace heated up to 7 times hotter than normal and told them if they would worship the idol he would spare them BUT they had Turbo-Faith and believed God would deliver them- I believe they had read the 91st Psalm-they told the king that God would deliver them if he threw them in the furnace and that even if the king changed his mind they still would not bow to the idol- So, in they went into the fire and it was so hot that the guards who carried them up dropped dead from the heat-that’s hot! King Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace and saw the 3 Hebrews walking around in the fire and not even a hair was singed and there clothes didn’t even smell like smoke-but more than that there was a 4th man walking with them in the fire-Wonder who that was? That is what I call Turbo-Faith! And because of their Turbo-Faith , the whole nation was changed and served the True and Living God!
Another example of Turbo-Faith in the same book is the story of Daniel and the lions in Daniel 6. Daniel had been promoted to President under King Darius and there were several others on the king’s cabinet that were jealous of Daniel. So they came up with a scheme to get rid of Daniel-They tricked him into signing a decree that appealed to the kings ego stated that for 30 days the people could only pray to the king. Anyone who was caught praying to God would be cast into the lion’s den-notice that it is the same demonic spirit that came on Nebuchadnezzar-Daniel was a man of Turbo-Faith and he served continually the True and Living God ( v.16 ) Daniel believed that God would deliver him and He did- And because of Daniel’s Turbo-Faith the nation was changed!
