I was meditating on some scriptures earlier and the Lord showed me something- Lets see what He said in His Word:
Job 5
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Then in verse 26 He says:
26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
Let’s see what He has to say in Psalms:
Psalm 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and
buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he
hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and
honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Proverbs 26
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Isaiah 54
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Psalm 34
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
This is not just something I am making up! I know that God desires to do good for His children. I have shown you these main scriptures but there are many may more. The Bible says that every word is to be established by two or three witnesses ( 2 Cor 13:1) Search for them as you would for gold.
Now if you just skimmed over those go back and really read it- put forth the effort and let it marinate! I want you to see something that I know will bless you!
We see all through Gods Word that He has promises for us; Actually its more than promises, they are statements of fact!! He tells us that we are protected- When we walk close to Him we are in that Secret Place that the Most High has provided for us- and If it is a Secret Place then the enemy does NOT know where it is! Right? Well, I also know the LORD has a sense of humor because I have a sense of humor and I am created in His image (Genesis 1:26-27)-
Well, the other day I was thinking about Proverbs 26:27. I realized that when the enemy tries to cause you harm by rolling a rock over you it will return on the one doing the rolling- or if he digs a pit for you he will fall in it himself- Isn’t this what the Word says?
Well, here is the sense of humor part-Have you ever watched the Looney Toons Roadrunner and Coyote cartoons? How many times did the Wile E. Coyote try to catch the Roadrunner in a snare or trap or roll a rock over on him or dig a pit to catch him or blow him up with dynamite, or other schemes? How many times did the coyote succeed? None! Yes, I know there was 1 time he did “catch” him but he was too little to do any harm.
We should be Roadrunner Christians! No matter what the enemy may use to snare us or destroy us it always backfires on him. Then he is left standing there wondering why it didn’t work. We know who we are in Christ Jesus, we know our Covenant rights and when the enemy comes we just go right over the snare and it fails to entrap us or harm us. We dwell in the secret place and know that NO weapon formed against us will harm us! And since it is a secret place then the enemy can’t find me- because it is a secret- I am hidden in the LORD!! Glory to God!! Then the devil is left standing there wondering what happened and it falls back on him! Glory to God!! That just thrills me to know that I can dwell in a place with God while in this life that no matter what the enemy may try, it wont work! The snares and traps that the enemy sets for us fail to work because we are walking in the fullness of THE BLESSING! But we do have a part in this. We can’t just do what we want, when we want and never take time for God and expect it to work! I may be getting ahead of myself, so let’s look back to the beginning where Adam was originally given authority.
When God formed Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed life into him, it was more than life, as we know. He breathed Spiritual Life, The Life of God, into him. God instructed Adam that he had authority over everything that was on this earth-that included the devil! But he committed treason and turned that authority over to the devil. Immediately everything that was good became evil-the Curse hit this earth and man lost the authority and life he had enjoyed. Faith became fear, life became death, wealth was turned to poverty, health became sickness and disease-everything associated with the devil was unleashed on this planet. But God had a plan- Praise God! God loves us so much that as soon as Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden and bowed his knee to the devil He began the plan to redeem us from spiritual death. And though the enemy is still roaming around and seeking who he may devour, we are assured in Gods Word that we can live a life filled with THE BLESSING and all that goes with it. We have been given authority and we must learn to walk in it! The Bible says that we, Christians, are to resist the devil and he will flee. (James 4:7) God Loves you and wants the very best for you but, as I said earlier, you DO have a part to play. That authority will not come by only casually picking up Gods Word and never spending time in prayer. It will not come if you don’t know who you are in Christ Jesus. It won’t work if you don’t believe it will work and are weak in faith. It will never work if you think that God is the one putting this on you to teach you something. How can you have faith in God if you think He is the one putting the mess on you?
Read your Bible, spend time in prayer, pray in the Holy Ghost, and get into a church that teaches the Word of God fully and not some watered down seeker friendly version of it. Puff and fluff won’t get it when you are under attack! You need the Word down inside you so when the enemy tries to attack you can boldly proclaim “NO, in Jesus Name! I will not allow this in my life! It is written in Gods Word that Jesus bore my sin, sickness, disease and poverty! I am a child of the Most High God!” Then stand on Gods Word in faith! But that kind of faith only comes if you know what Gods will is. If you are unsure of Gods will then there is no way you can be in faith! Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word! (Romans 10:17)
Never to make light of the Word of God but we can be like the Roadrunner if we stand on Gods Word. Believe that it means what it says when it says that he has plans to do good to you, to prosper you and deliver you Jeremiah 29 says it like this:
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
See that? God has plans of Good and NOT evil! You have an expected end; THE BLESSING in full
operation in your life everyday! Glory to God!! That includes being protected from the enemy and all his
snares and traps!
In 1Cor 11:1 (The Weymouth New Testament) Paul says it like this:
Be imitators of me, in so far as I in turn am an imitator of Christ.
What did we see happen in Paul’s life? Yes there were many trials because the devil wanted to destroy
him and stop the spread of Christianity! There were shipwrecks, beatings, jails, snakebites and other traps
but Paul was delivered from them all! He was walking in the knowledge that he was protected no matter
what! I am not saying that you will just float through life and never have any troubles when you make Jesus
your LORD, but I am saying that you will be walking in His protection if you do! Look at what Paul had to
say in the letter he wrote to Timothy:
2 Timothy 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what
persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his
heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I believe Paul knew a thing or two about protection don’t you? All the Disciples and the early Church endured hardships at times but God delivered them. There is enough material on these to write twelve books, have 4 conventions and a year long Bible study so there is no way I can put it all in this blog. Dig into Gods Word and enjoy the benefits of being a Roadrunner Christian!
If you have never accepted Jesus and made him your LORD I encourage you to do that today. Don’t wait. There is a tab above that says, “Are you a Christian” that will show you how to make that decision. Write and let me know of your decision. Have a Blessed Day and remember, JESUS IS LORD!!
