As a nation we have gone through a “Health Craze” over the years. People will go to the gym and sign up and spend lots of money to “get in shape” but after a few months the majority drop out. Why? Some just are too busy to spend that amount of time each week to see the benefit. Others, because of a possible health issues can’t put their body to that kind of training. Others still just won’t because its hard. But some will persevere and sweat and work till they see the results they want.
Christians are the same way. Some are just too busy to go to church or spend time daily in His Word and grow weaker and weaker spiritually and are prime candidates for the enemy to destroy. Some because of possible physical ailments think they aren’t able to (but the Word of God is like medicine to our flesh) But some will persevere and get up early and read their Bible and pray in the Holy Ghost and feed on God’ Word by being at church when the doors are open and then they also feed on God’s Word all weak by listening to good teachings that are full of faith. If we fed our physical bodies the way we feed our spirit man we would all die of malnutrition in a short period of time. We make sure that wee eat at least 3 times a day but a vast majority won’t feed their spirit man God’s Word much more than 1 time a week ( and many not even that often). Then when the enemy attacks, and we are toast so to speak, we want to question why did God allow that? He didn’t! Just like a person who doesn’t take care of their physical body and then have health issues arise. If you don’t strengthen your spirit by feeding it the things of God then there will be issues arise and attacks by the enemy.
How do you strengthen your spirit? Feed it God’s Word daily. Feed on teachings that are full of faith. Teachings that teach who we are in Christ Jesus (We are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus- We are more than conquerors- We are overcomers-We are new creations- We are Sons and Daughters of the Most High God-We are Blessed!) I know this isn’t what a lot of people have heard from the pulpit but this is from the Bible! Go look it up. Say what God says about you! Grow strong in Him and His Word! then when the enemy tries to attack, your faith is strong and victory is yours! But it will take effort on your part- get up an hour early and read and pray in the Holy Ghost. Put on a teaching CD on faith ( ones by Kenneth Hagin Sr, Kenneth Hagin Jr, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland) ( Faith and Victory Church, Word of Faith Ministries, Keith Moore, and Jerry Savelle all have free MP3 downloads) Look to the right- there are links to the ones that teach Faith. There is basically no excuse. Its just like someone who is physically out of shape saying “Well I want to get in shape but there are no gyms that are convenient to get to”. You are going to have to put forth some effort. The LORD awoke me at 4 am this morning and prompted me to write this- I had no idea what direction I was going except Be Strong!
One thing I overlooked- if you have never made Jesus LORD of your life then that is the first step- Just like you have to have a membership to get in the gym, you have to have a “Membership” to enjoy the benefits of God. That’s first, and if look above there is a tab “Are you A Christian” that will help you make that decision. After that get into a church that teaches the Word without compromise and teaches the Bible, not opinions and mans doctrine. Too many Christians live defeated lives because they are in a church that teaches we are just worms, we are no good, we are just sinners saved by grace ( you can’t be both- You were a sinner, you are now saved by grace!) and that everything has a purpose- God has some great reason for making you sick, or poor, or defeated- Hogwash! God sent His Son Jesus to take our sickness, disease, poverty and redeem us from the bonds of the devil and sin!. Check it out, that’s in the Bible! You will never rise above the situation if you think that God is the one doing it to you. What hope do you have? But Glory to God, 1 Corinthians 15:57 says “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” and 2 Corinthians 2:14 says “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” Does that sound like God wants you defeated? I am including a partial list of scriptures on strength below- read those and let them sink in. Grow strong in the LORD and live a Victorious life ! JESUS IS LORD!!

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
