Happy Birthday!

Just thinking about somethings this afternoon as I awakened from a short, much needed nap; We have been running wide open lately so was nice to catch a catnap after church- Anyway, as I awoke the thought came to me- how would it be to have my next birthday party become a worldwide Holiday? What if everyone, or the majority of people anyway, took the day off, businesses closed, Banks, Post Offices, Governments closed down, and Stock Markets around the world were silent that day; millions, even billions of people participated in a one day worldwide celebration of my birthday-That would be a pretty big deal for a boy born in a rural part of North Carolina!
But instead of the day being a celebration about my life and my birth, everybody bought gifts and gave them to each other; At the many parties held in celebration of my birth few, if any people mentioned my name nor even gave me a 2nd thought-It Is My Birthday! Hey! Why aren’t you thinking about me??? This is supposed to be MY party!! But very few people paused to think why the day was set aside in the first place- I guess, humanly speaking that I would be at least a little upset with the whole mess- I would feel as if I didn’t matter- And speaking from a human standpoint I would be saddened that I didn’t get to be a part of the celebration- It is supposed to be a party for me, right?-Well, that is the way the majority of the world treats the Celebration of our LORD and Savior, Jesus! Don’t let this happen this year in your life- Remember Jesus IS the reason for the Season! Keep Him first place in your family celebrations, work celebrations- Take the time to spend thanking God for His Greatest Gift- Spend time in God’s Word reading the Christmas Story of all Christmas stories- and declare that JESUS IS LORD!

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Just something to think about.Don’t forget what this time of year is really about!
